Tincture Details
"Made in Glass" with good old time purity!
We
feel something has been lost in the tincture maker’s community. Things
have gotten too big and fast. It's just not convenient for some in the
world of mass production to make tinctures in glass. We are very
concerned about the scientific reports we have been reading concerning
plastic and how it may leach endocrine disruptors. [1] [2] Some
tincture manufacturers and alcohol producers use HDPE plastic, which is
accepted by the FDA
as a food grade substance. HDPE is made from petroleum. [3] And
although it is thought to be safe, time and more research may
dispute this. If you consider the fact that many herbs have volatile
oils and even 190 proof alcohols can have fusel oils, this creates a
strong possibility of bonding with plastic since it is oil-based. With
the possibility of this bond leeching endocrine disruptiors it seems
only logical to not take chances and use glass containers to make
tinctures. So we're going to stay with glass. Our products are made
from organic or ethically wild crafted herbs in organic alcohol and are
made and stored in glass containers. We know you'll feel safer about
these products. These are short run batches and in limited supply. We
feel this is best when it comes to quality.
